I wanted to explore brutalist design principles in the context of apparel and merchandise for this project.

I chose to base my work on the rising metal band -  Architects, specifically the song 'Tear Gas' from their album 'Classic Symptoms of a Broken Spirit'.

I wanted to design to read like a warning message with a simple red and black colour scheme paired with hazard symbols linked to tear gas, brought together with a grungy focal point in the form of a canister of gas falling through a smoke cloud.
